Silk Hospitality are seeking an experienced leader with excellent customer service skills and a passion for working with people.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Housekeeper with the professional and cost effective running of the Housekeeping department achieving high standards of cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas and back of house. You will need to form strong relationships with all Department Managers and work with them to provide a high level product, with the highest priority on Guest Service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all designated areas (rooms, apartments, suites, offices & public areas).
  • Uphold excellent standards in the Housekeeping Department and to provide a comfortable, safe environment for guests and Housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure communication is clear and effective in order to create a courteous and professional work environment through open lines of communication with other hotel departments.
  • Inspect all rooms on a daily basis in order to review, monitor and maintain standards.
  • Operate the department within the budget and the agreed quality management charter.
  • Maintaining a high standard in terms of cleanliness & tidiness.
  • Prepare periodical cleaning schedules, and keep records of all work completed.
  • Plan and organise periodical departmental training for staff in the areas of job knowledge, efficiency, grooming and diplomacy.
  • Interview and assist in final selection of prospective employees.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Maintain an accurate and proper inventory of all stocks, guest supplies, linen etc. to ensure efficient running of department and to prevent loss.
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and proactively by demonstrating solution orientation.
